Green Moog Daal Recipe

This recipe is a perfect home style green moong dal or whole moong dal. Try this with hot rice, millets or phulka. This green moon daal is delicious and high in protein. Perfect for those who want to loose weight or gain muscles.


Ingredients

  • Green Gram Dal (Moong Dal) - 1 cup

  • Onion - 1 big size

  • Tomato - 2

  • Green Chili - 2

  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp

  • Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp

  • Oil - 2 tbs

  • Coriander Powder - 1 tsp

  • Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp

  • Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp

  • Salt

  • Water - 1.5 cup

Method

  1. In a pressure cooker pour oil, after it gets heated add cumin seeds. Let it splutter.

  2. Add diced onions and saute it for 1 minute.

  3. Add ginger garlic paste and salt. Saute it till the onions get golden brown.

  4. Add coriander powder and turmeric powder. Stir it well.

  5. Add chopped tomatoes, red chili powder and garam masala.

  6. Stir it well and cover it with lid for 3 minutes.

  7. Remove the lid and add water, moong dal and cover it with lid and pressure cook for 10 - 15 minutes.

  8. After the pressure is released transfer the dal to a serving bowl and garnish it with finely chopped coriander leaves.
